The banks are not required to maintain actual cash on hand or in their vault. Just a good hard look at what’s happening. Don’t base annual budgets on spending 100% of last years spending. Get AI to suggest plans. Trump won’t do anything to fix things. He made worst during his last presidental term. Get strong accountants not business men to study the problem. Set up new mortgage systems and control costs of buying as well as the mortgage itself. I am not talking about not paying for services but having reasonable costs.

One quick side note warning to people that think they can just stop paying walk away or file for bankruptcy- be very careful. Collection agencies, law firms, companies that buy “ written off” debt will hound you to the grave especially if they see something they can put a lien against ( including just you the person - garnished wage salary etc)- which they can review and renew in court much longer than most people think. AI and the online court system has made renewing cases as simple as a few clicks by the law firm on their keyboard .And as horrible as that sounds it is part of the foundation of property rights. Switch shoes and imagine you loaned a neighbor a chunk of your savings and they just stopped paying you back. Even the evil corporations money is an actually some Mom and Pops pension through shares of a diversified portfolio.

the fdic needs to raise the limits, inflation has made 250k chump change.... most small businesses run average daily balances higher than that everyday.... saving these deposits needs to happen..... encourage people to keep balances below the 250k ....how much is payroll and bills to pay vendors on a daily basis.... keeping deposits below 250k is next to impossible these days.... save the depositors or rase the fdic limits. careful not to sensationalize this situation with Republic first.

I still have all of my Covid era stimulus money, I locked it all up in precious metals 4 years ago and it has gained in value, keeping up with inflation.

woops.... your guest missed it.... republic first was not too big to fail... it failed, depositors were saved, the bank failed and investors/owners lost everything. the fdic has the full faith and credit of the US... the fund may be small but if needed the Treasury will fill the void.
